My 20-year history of back pain shifted fundamentally under Jamie's expert attention. She recommended a course of various therapies that, while primarily consisting of regular acupuncture, included courses of Chinese herbs, abdominal massage, and cupping.
"Though I enjoyed the best of what traditional Western medicine had to offer since back problems began to plague me in High School, I was at a point of worsening discomfort, decreasing mobility and pronounced numbness in my legs and feet. I went to the Emergency Room for pain rescue every 4 to 6 weeks for more than a year before I was finally stabilized, primarily through medication. There was a clear point at which my oral meds would not control certain catastrophic acute pain events, so into the ER I'd hobble for shot after shot of narcotic pain killers until the pain came under control, and then home for 24-36 hours of stunned & hung-over recuperation thereafter. It was emotionally, physically and financially exhausting.
"At the very beginning of one of these rapidly accelerating pain events, I decided to go see Jamie on my way to the ER. In 15 minutes, by putting 3 needles in the back of my hand and two in my forearm, she accomplished what would historically have taken 5-8 hours in the hospital, 4-6 injections and several thousand dollars. (I'm getting goosebumps as I relate this event from 8 years ago.) She turned the pain around in an instant, and I haven't been to an Emergency Room since!
